It's not wrong. You are in love, you knew which ring you wanted and it was a bargain. Your fella seems great and agrees with you. I don't think it matters if a woman asks a man or a man asks a woman, you are in a committed relationship and I wish you all the best for the future. I would hate a man to pick my engagement ring without me seeing it or having the final say about it. Most men I think get dragged along to the jewellery store but let their partner's pick the one they want anyway. You just did the long distance version. :-)
