Minecraft SMP Server Help?

So I've set up a SMP server. I turn the server on and off and it is working well. However i noticed my player spawns in a different location each time I die. I was wandering if I could set the spawn area down to the exact block. Without using plugins, is it possible to do so? If so, How?
