What Would You Do In This Situation?
I've had a horrible sinus condition for months that has greatly impacted my quality of life. Yesterday I finally had an appointment with an ENT specialist. It was difficult getting it because he has a small private practice and it seems he doesn't even work full time. Well, I dropped off my prescription at Stop&Shop pharmacy on the way home and told them I'd pick it up tomorrow. (I had already taken medication that day). When I went to pick it up today they told me that had no record of me dropping off the prescription. They were quite rude and acted like they doubted I even dropped it off. I felt completely on the defensive. The pharmacist tried calling the doctor but he wasn't in and has no emergency service. I felt horrible. I've been miserably sick for months, and I'd had hope that I would be able to at least experience some relief from my pain. The attitudes of the people did not help. They were arguing with me and being rude in front of a line of customers standing behind me which was embarrassing. I went and found the manager and he went to investigate the situation. He called me back on my cell and told me they had no record of me dropping off a prescription there. Again, I could totally tell from his attitude that he didn't think I dropped it off there at all. He kind of acted like it wasn't their problem. I got upset and started to cry on the phone. So he offered me a twenty-five dollar gift card and then went up to fifty. I told him I didn't want it but I have family members that probably will which is true...I can't be bought but they sure as hell can. Right now I have been crying off and on, I have been suffering so much and I'm not even assured I'm going to be able to get hold of the ENT on Monday because he's so hard to catch. I emailed the corporate headquarters of Stop & Shop to appraise them of what happened and told them I really think they need to have customer sign a registry when they drop off a prescription. That's all I can do, but I'm wondering, what would anyone else have done in this situation?
